The ferz is a quite historical, but weak, piece that moves 1 space diagonally. It appears in Chinese Chess as the Guard, which can't leave the palace, and in Courier chess as the queen. It has an approximate value of 1.5, slightly more than a pawn, and is notated as F. In Russian and Ukrainian, ferz is the name for the queen.
