Stalemateedit

From WikiChess

Stalemate is similar to checkmate, but the king is not in check. It occurs when a king cannot make any legal moves, but is not in check (If the king was in check and could not make a legal move, it is checkmate). Stalemate means that neither side has won or lost.

If a king cannot make a legal move, but has other pieces that can, it is not considered stalemate until the remaining piece cannot make a legal move.
